♥ Motherly Instincts ♥

My daughter has just that, Motherly Instincts, when it comes to animals, kitties to be precise, She takes after her Momere yet again with the fact that cats have her heart!

Last years River Trip ended up being a rescue mission for my mother, myself and my daughter, someone had gone down to the river and dumped 4 bebe kittens, right in the middle of the road, we figured we had just missed the people who did it because the kittens were all still huddled together in the middle of the road wondering what was going on. They were sweet as could be, once the realized we weren’t there to hurt them but to help them. We scooped them all up and took them to my mom’s house where we nursed them to health and then gave them away. Through out the whole process, Cheyenne was right there watching over them like a mother cat, she would ask us what we were doing to her bebes every time we picked one up and as soon as we put one down, she would scoop it up, give it lovin’s and then set it back down, as to say “you’re OK, mommy is here”! Cheyenne bonded with one kitten in particular, however, and I honestly believe the kitten connected right back just as hard and fast as my daughter. It was so sweet and so neat to watch how they were with each other, thinking about it now still brings tears to my eyes, it was just something so real, so raw, that it just cannot be explained properly. So that is what this picture is for, every time we were done feeding and bathing the kittens we would put them in this kennel and every time, this little white one would just lay at the front waiting for Cheyenne to come see her, to give her attention and to just love on her and of course Cheyenne would come and do just that, with her finger, through the front of the kennel. I snapped this picture on one of those days when Chey was giving her bebe reassurance, the reason this picture touches me so is because if you look closely you can see the love in this kittens eyes for my precious bebe girl or maybe it’s just me;)I do just love this picture though and the little girl who’s finger is touching the nose of this pretty little kitty!!
