Welcome to my Blog Y'all!

 I'm Leia! I'm a small town Country girl with a passion for photography and a love for art! I am a wifey of 6 years to my wonderful husband, and might I add my very own Cowboy, Ben and a Mommy to my two wonderful little Countrified Cuties, who are 4 and 2!

 This blog is the place where I will be sharing my current photography including session sneak peeks and even some current events that are happening with me personally. Let me tell you a little bit about my style, which happens to be a sprinkle of everything! First off, I love to capture those natural, fun, candid moments, you know the ones where when you see them they just light up your face because the persons personality was captured perfectly!!  I also love the posed shots, the ones where I put you where I want you and make you say cheese, they can tell a story as well and can have just as much meaning, I say that only because I tend to snap pictures when you least expect it once you're set up and I tend to get those wonderful spur of the moment images while all the while you're being "posed". I'm flexible as well with my equipment and availability, I have a personal portable studio for those on location, in studio, traditional shoots but I do prefer outdoors and natural light when available! Let me see, I do everything from newborns to boudoir but not weddings, at least not at this time! However, if you have any ideas or styles of pictures you would like to have taken, please contact me via the contact tab at the top and we can work something out! Also, make sure you take a peek at my portfolio, which can be found at the top as well, it will give you more of a feel for who I am along with a lot more pictures to show you what all I can do for you! Thanks so much for stopping by, I look forward to hopefully working with you and I really look forward to capturing your life's most precious moments!

{ He looks like Me but He acts like his Daddy! }

Look at him, he looks just like me, except the boy version, you know something, I always wanted to know what I would look like if I was a boy and well, now I get to see first hand! It’s actually pretty cool, he is like me in more ways than his looks too, we have the same mole, in the same spot on our thigh, the only mark he actually has on his body as of right now! We both love to cuddle and rock for hours on end while snuggling and watching TV and we both LOVE to be tickled, not the kind of tickling where you pee your pants from the laughter that ensues but the kind where someone runs their fingers softly over your skin, we could sit in one spot or position for hours just to be “tickled” and my son in all his sweetness and innocents, even tries to return the favor for me, when I’m done tickling him, he has seen Daddy do it enough that he thinks he has mastered the technique, and yes, he has stated “I can do it mommy, see, watch!”, um yes we are still working out the kinks (ouch)!! Ok I could go on and on but let’s face it, we don’t have all night for me to ramble on about how much me and my bebe boy are alike!! SO, on to my next point… Now he may look like me and take after me with those small details but the boy is all his daddy and that’s the way Dustin wants it, he tries 100% everyday to be more and more like his daddy, like it is his goal, from watching hunting shows to master his aim or fishing in the playroom to master his casting, he does it all, and when he does something right or something that makes him know his daddy would be proud, he comes running up to me and saying “I like daddy mommy, I did it, I did it!!” and then goes on about how he shot the “duck” or caught the “fish”! Melts my heart and makes me smile really big every time and if the Hubster is here, well shoot, if the Hubster is here, it’s two running up to me in excitement not just one! ;) You can see a twinkle in my Husbands eyes when He and Dustin are off doing something “manly” together, as Father and Son, Daddy and Bubba and Hunting and Fishing Buddies! They are My Country Boys and I love them! <3

Isn’t he just a heart melter??!! Those eyes are going to get him in trouble when he gets older!

My Smiles:

{ Amazed and Blessed}

Sometimes I sit and I stare, in amazement, in pure amazement at God’s Awesome work and his talent in creating us all in his own way, making us all so different from each other, yet so much alike. Sometimes I sit and I stare at all the blessings I have around me and I remind myself how truly lucky I really am for all that I have! Sometimes I sit and stare, I stare at this precious little red head who has somehow grown from my sweet bebe into my beautiful little girl in what seems like the blink of an eye. Sometimes I sit and stare at her baby brother and thank God that she has him and that he has her! On this day, I sat and I stared, I stared at my precious little 4yr old and wondered what she was thinking as she was squatting down in the middle of the street looking off in the distant, as if in deep thought, how I wish I could have been in her mind because after this moment had passed she looked right into my eyes, grinned at me and said “I love you mommy”, I smiled as I told her I loved her too, all the while wondering what she could have been thinking of that would have prompted her to tell me those three precious words that I love so much to hear! <3 She is so smart beyond her years it seems, every day she amazes me in so many new ways that I cannot even keep count but you can bet that every night in my prayers, I thank God for her and for her brother and for their daddy, because those three are the pieces of my heart that walk on the outside of my body, those three are my everything and God is so Awesome for blessing little ol’ me with so much more than I deserve!

{ Never Forgotten }

My horse Item, I don’t know if I’ve mentioned him before on here but I know I’ve talked about him a lot with friends and well of course my family!

Item is/was my horse from when I was growing up, he has been in my family since the time I was around 3-4 yrs old, I lost him when I was 19…. Item, he was the best horse in the WHOLE WIDE WORLD and of course I am not the least bit bias ;) , he was seriously an all around awesome, gentle, friendly, playful, snuggly big baby of a horse and I think this above picture proves just that and more! I loved just being with him, rather it was playing with him in the pasture while he grazed or riding him down, in and around the woods behind our house, or the one thing I used to love to do most which was burring my nose into his neck and taking in that wonderful horse smell he had, nothing like it in the whole world, takes me home and with him again every time I smell it! This picture right here is of his bit and reins set, the bridle has been gone for awhile now, it broke, but I’ve kept the rest of the set with me as a reminder of him, I also still have the blue set you see in the above picture but this one right here has way more meaning, more stories and more memories for me and him, which is why I chose it for my picture of the day! So, although my big baby is gone, he will ALWAYS hold a special place in my heart and hope chest, I will never forget all the fun I had with him and I can guarantee that as long as I live, this set will remain with me, in my hope chest, right next to my bouquet from my wedding day! I love you Item!

I’m thinkin’ I might have to blow this up and put it somewhere in my room! ;)

My Smiles:

The Husbter, love him!

The glass of Strawberry wine with Strawberries I am enjoying

s’getti for dinner made by hubster himself, he is a very good cook

the bebes enjoying bubbles in the livingroom

watching movies on the couch all day and just vegging out!

this picture and all the memories that are flooding my brain right now!

knowing that cuddles are in my future, with more wine and a good movie!

{ 100 days Smarter! }

That is what the sticker said that was on my bebe girls shirt today when she got in the car and on her pretty little head was a pink crown, made with love by her (with help from the teacher of course) to mark the 100th day of school!!!! She is so proud of that crown that she is sitting at the dinner table right now, princess crown on head with a peanut butter covered grin! Now today to also mark the special day, the kids all got a bag full of 100 snacks, there are all kinds from pretzels to marsh mellows to heart candies and more!!! It looks very yummy and appetizing!

Happy 100th day y’all!

My Smiles:

  • hearing my bebe girl tell her Momere “I know it’s pretty Momere, I did make it you know”! lol
  • my son, wanting to rock the pink crown just like his sissy!
  • a phone call from the hubster, just hearing his voice makes my day 20 times better and the fact I hear it like 50 times a day, well that just takes my day over the moon and back! :)
  • talking with a friend on messenger <3
  • my gf from Fl and the giddiness she had for her new phone, I laughed for a good ten minutes listening to her sound like a little school girl with a new toy!
  • hearing my son “whistle” for his sissy, it’s more of a scream but still cute!
  • knowing that I’m going to sneak some of these yummy snacks while my bebes sleep! ;)
  • the next picture I plan to share, I’m an emotional wreck about it but it’s a happy emotional wreck!

{ Motherly Instincts }

My daughter has just that, Motherly Instincts, when it comes to animals, kitties to be precise, She takes after her Momere yet again with the fact that cats have her heart!

Last years River Trip ended up being a rescue mission for my mother, myself and my daughter, someone had gone down to the river and dumped 4 bebe kittens, right in the middle of the road, we figured we had just missed the people who did it because the kittens were all still huddled together in the middle of the road wondering what was going on. They were sweet as could be, once the realized we weren’t there to hurt them but to help them. We scooped them all up and took them to my mom’s house where we nursed them to health and then gave them away. Through out the whole process, Cheyenne was right there watching over them like a mother cat, she would ask us what we were doing to her bebes every time we picked one up and as soon as we put one down, she would scoop it up, give it lovin’s and then set it back down, as to say “you’re OK, mommy is here”! Cheyenne bonded with one kitten in particular, however, and I honestly believe the kitten connected right back just as hard and fast as my daughter. It was so sweet and so neat to watch how they were with each other, thinking about it now still brings tears to my eyes, it was just something so real, so raw, that it just cannot be explained properly. So that is what this picture is for, every time we were done feeding and bathing the kittens we would put them in this kennel and every time, this little white one would just lay at the front waiting for Cheyenne to come see her, to give her attention and to just love on her and of course Cheyenne would come and do just that, with her finger, through the front of the kennel. I snapped this picture on one of those days when Chey was giving her bebe reassurance, the reason this picture touches me so is because if you look closely you can see the love in this kittens eyes for my precious bebe girl or maybe it’s just me ;) I do just love this picture though and the little girl who’s finger is touching the nose of this pretty little kitty!!

My Smiles:

  • finding this picture!
  • knowing that I get a surprise this weekend and the thrill of not knowing what it is!! :)
  • knowing that pork chops are in our future for supper!
  • my friends (always a daily smile though)
  • my hubster (yet again, always a daily smile)
  • knowing that all of y’all are reading and enjoying my blog on a daily bases!! :)

{ Old and Priceless }

This Cross, that was worn by my Mawmaw when she walked down the aisle to marry her best friend, my Pawpaw. This Cross, that was worn by me, when I walked down the aisle to marry my best friend, my Cowboy! This Cross, so old, so well weathered, with so much meaning and history and love wrapped around every little diamond and around every link of the chain. This Cross is my something old and when my daughter walks down the aisle, I pray it is her something old too! I will never forget the love, the emotions, the pride I felt when I put this necklace on, I still feel all of that to this day when I hold it in my hands. It is so wonderful how one small little piece of jewelry can hold so much meaning to me and it will forever be cherished!

My Smiles:

  • this necklace and everything it means
  • my daughter requesting a T.V. be put in the bathroom because as she says “that would just be so cool and easy mommy”
  • my son, agreeing with my daughter
  • the rice and chili with cheese that was consumed for supper!
  • yellow bath time with bebes screaming “it’s pee mommy, ewwwwww we swimming in peee” lol
  • the 1.5yr advance notice of the fact that I WILL be at Imaging USA in SA! ;)
  • my friends

{ Conversation Hearts!! }

Today, I attempted to do something fun with my bebes, in the spirit of Valentines Day, but as luck would have it, they didn’t turn out like planned, although they did taste absolutely yummo! Meet, the Cookies, the “Conversation Hearts” cookies from walmart, they look easy enough, from the picture on the package, but when I got right down to it and start decorating, I realized that the package had been deceiving all along! It was not easy at all, it was messy and gooey and everywhere (FYI red icing stains!) Oh it was a nightmare, a giggle fest, messy nightmare, I say giggle fest because my bebes thought it was the funniest thing ever to do and watch me try to do! :) At least 2 out of 3 being happy ain’t so bad, right??!! ;) I’m all better now though, no worries, icing covered kisses from my bebes and a few (maybe 4) cookies later and I am a happy mommy again! SO since my cookies turned out kinda disastrous, I decided why not pour some yummy heart candies all over them and call it a night! SO I did just that!

My smiles:

  • the giggles that ensued from this experience
  • my hubster
  • getting bedrooms and bathrooms tackled today
  • the Pioneer Woman’s Chicken Fried Steak I made tonight!
  • my new house phones, they are AWESOME! lol
  • talking with a Coastie wife/new friend and making plans for the Rodeo!!

{ For the Love of Fire, for my Mommy!! }

I’ve said it a billion times and I will say it again, I LOVE fire! I love the sound of the crackling, the smell of the burning wood, the feel of the warth, the look of the flames, everything! I just love fires, I come by this love honestly though, my mother, she is the fire queen, she is the woman everyone who loves fires wishes they could be, she can make a fire out of smoldering ambers with just a little love and extra wood, I would tell you how she does it but to this day, I STILL have no clue, she is magical I guess, she is the “fire whisperer”! ;) We both just love fires, love love love love love them!! Which brings me to this weekend, after my shoot with the precious Ms NaLani, I headed to my mommy’s house to stay the weekend, on Sunday I had a Style Show that I shot for, pictures to come on that one, so I just stayed the weekend with her and saw all my family and a few friends! It was funnnnn!!! Anyway, the weather was perfect, not sunshiny, warm perfect but nasty, cold, rainy perfect…. fire perfect! And that is just where my little tushy stayed as much as possible, planted right in front of my mom’s fireplace, right in front of a famous Mom Fire!! Oh it was heaven on earth, I tell you what, it was just plain AWESOME! Now, without further ado or more babbling on my part, meet ”the fire”!!

My smiles:

  • this fire picture, did I mention I love fire??! ;)
  • walking in the front door of my house and smelling “home” in my nostrils! Nothing like it, any where!
  • Laughing my butt off on the phone, with a friend, at how not funny I can be! ;)
  • the chicken and dumplings we had for supper! Yummo!
  • my new little picture frame I got from the style show!
  • my daddy and the post it note!
  • seeing my brother, sis-in-law and nephew
  • getting a little mud on my tires out at the ranch! Blacky loves to get messy! :)
  • my family, as nutty as we all maybe, we are perfect!
  • the little purple heart made by the flame, if you look to the left on the top piece of wood, you will see it! :)

{ Boys…. the saying is so true! }

Whoever came up with the saying  ”What boys are made of”, nailed it, I mean nailed it right on the head!! Meet my son, my youngest, my boy, my handful, my cutie pie with an attitude, yes meet Dustin, my wild little guy! Now, he may look innocent here but let me tell you, it is a cover up! O.k., not really, he is an awesome kid, with awesome manors, a great sense of humor, a very contagious laugh and eyes that can make you melt! Between him and his sister, they could get away with murder! lol!
It is horrible how bad these bebes of ours have us wrapped around their little fingers!! But you won’t find me complaining, I am one super blessed mommy and I could not ask for more!

My smiles:

  • hearing the story about my bebe girl from this morning, she snuck out of my room and into Momere’s room, wakes her up and says “Momere, you have to get up, I want to see the sun rise, it’s going to be spectacular!!”
  • getting my hometown Shipley’s Donuts for breakfast!! NOTHING beats it I promise!!
  • Seeing old friends and making new ones at the Style Show today!! I had a BLAST!
  • Coming back to my mom’s house and getting tackled at the front door by two very happy chitlens!!
  • getting a phone call from the Hubster  that made me feel like I could conquer the world!!
  • getting on here, to this picture waiting in edit on my blog and ready for me to post!
  • a warm toasty fire to warm my body and soul!! Nothing like a fire and your mommy to make a night perfect!

Sugar and Spice?!….. no, just tons of Sugar!! | Galveston County Bebe Photographer

For the past 4mths, I have had the true privilege of watching this awesome little family grow, from excited parents to be at their maternity shoot to overjoyed new yet tired parents at the newborn session to now, NaLani’s 3mth session!! :) Although I must admit, I think I am the one who wins out here, I mean not only do I get to photograph these gorgeous people but I also get to call them my friends and that makes my heart smile!

Lafaith and Reggie, thank y’all so much for letting me capture yet another milestone in y’alls truly blessed life!!

Thank you for letting me play and photograph such an awesome little princess and for letting me destroy your dining room with all my props and equipment!

NaLani, thank you sweet little one for being so awesome during our session, for smiling at me even though I was constantly shoving a big camera in your face and flashing a bright light in your beautiful brown eyes!!

I really hope ya’ll enjoy this tease of a sneak peek!
